New Hudson Facades needed a storage and retrieval system for large racks of facade components staged for kitting or assembly. Four constraints shaped everything: the carts were oversized, the available space was tight, the racks needed to reach a large mezzanine reliably, and inventory had to stay accurate and the space fully utilized in real time.
A fully custom automated storage and retrieval system designed around all four constraints. The solution addressed cart sizing, space configuration, the mezzanine delivery method, and live inventory tracking. None had an off-the-shelf answer.
The solution nearly doubled usable space in the area: cart storage relocated to a new mezzanine level, freeing the original floor for machining and manufacturing. It paired with an automated storage and retrieval system: operators enter a project number and select the cart they need. The system delivers it to either level on demand.
